US to be isolated once again: Iran’s ambassador to UN

Tehran (ISNA) - Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi predicted that Tuesday’s meeting of the Security Council will again lead to the isolation of the United States.

“Today’s meeting of the Security Council is a regular meeting held every six months under the UN Resolution 2231,” Ravanchi said.

“In previous meetings of the Security Council, we have also seen that the US has been isolated and has been the only country that criticized the 2015 nuclear deal and took different stance toward the Resolution 2231,” he added.

“US will hear once again the world supporting the JCPOA at the UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday,” the diplomat stressed.

UN Security Council is to hold an online meeting on Tuesday afternoon to review the latest situation of implementation of Resolution 2231.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to take part in the meeting.
