Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian first Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri praised Iraqi parliament’s decision on the withdrawal of US forces in a meeting with a high ranking Syrian delegation and hoped the approach expands to the other Islamic states, stressing that the real revenge against US actions is their withdrawal from the region.

In a joint meeting of Iranian and Syrian high-ranking delegations in Tehran, Jahangiri said that interference by western states, especially US in the region has led to insecurity and instability. US has committed “enormous crimes in the region, especially in Iraq and Syria by forming terrorist groups like ISIS,” he continued.

Stressing on Iran’s continuous supports for Syrian government and nation, he noted that Iran backs Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty to establish peace and stability and hopes the crisis in Idlib would be resolved.

Mentioning Tehran’s willingness for expanding economic cooperation and relations with Damascus, the official insisted on the need of implementing and pursuing recently-signed bilateral agreements.

Jahangiri said, “Iranian private sector companies are very interested in participation in reconstruction of Syria”.

He also expressed hope that Tehran-Damascus ties advance in all areas along with political and military relations.

Syrian Prime Minister, Imad Khamis, for his part, noted that US has always had plans for aggression against regional states. “We should be ready and increase our cooperation and coordination, as it can serve as a deterring shield against US plots,” he added.

Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid Muallem said that Trump administration has taken covered war as its strategy and it is trying to impose poverty and hunger to nations by unilateral sanctions.
