Araghchi to head to Moscow for nuclear nonproliferation conference

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi will travel to Moscow to attend an international nonproliferation conference in Moscow.

The Moscow Nonproliferation Conference (Nuclear Energy, Disarmament, Nonproliferation) is one of the world's largest forums on nuclear issues which is slated to take place in the Russian capital from Nov. 7-9.

Hosted by Russia's Center for Energy and Security Studies, the conference is set to bring together some 250 participants from more than 40 countries, as well as those from key international organizations, such as the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Issues such as Russia-US arms control, different aspects of the JCPOA, growing tensions in the Middle East, the lack of progress of the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula will be discussed during the event.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi is expected to take part in the conference, explaining the latest situation of the 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
