“Lotus” invited to London Eco Film Festival

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian short documentary “Lotus” directed by Mohamadreza Vatandoust will attend London Eco Film Festival’s competition section.

In its 18th presence in international festivals, “Lotus” will represent Iran in the 2019 London Eco Film Festival, which is due to be held November 2-3 in the UK.

The free two-day event will feature films and debates workshops. There will also be incredible guests, Oscar-winning conservationists, Extinction Rebellion, Survival International, The Africa Centre, Greenpeace, Plastic Bank, Refill, First Mile and many more all under one roof.

This is a groundbreaking programme which is encouraging the next generation to look after their environment, whilst enabling many poor areas to have higher levels of education.

In its previous participations in international film festivals, Lotus has won Big Sky Documentary Film Festival’s Artistic Vision Award, Golden Statue and Certificate of Appreciation and Cash Prize of the Roshd International Film Festival Awards for Best Short Documentary Film. It has also been nominated in other festivals, such as UK’s Sheffield International Documentary Festival, US’ LA Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival, and Macedonia’s Winter Apricots-Prilep International Film Festival.

The 13-minute documentary film tells a story of an old woman who has waited 12 years for permission to cross the lake to an island where the last resident of Lafourak waits for her.
