Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed on Sunday that the top priority of the country’s foreign policy is relations with neighbor countries.

He made the remarks while attending Parliament session to answer the lawmakers' questions.

In response to a lawmaker's question about the reason of lack of constant diplomacy with neighboring countries in east and southeast of Iran, Zarif said, “Relations with neighboring countries along with facilitating the economic affairs are the top priority of Iran’s foreign policy”.

“Currently, Iran’s border with Pakistan is one of the most secure borders of the country,” he added.

About joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Zarif said, “Iran's joining the EAEU provides special facilities and services for the country. Such facilities will pave the way for the establishment of special relations with the neighboring countries which are important trade partners for Iran”.

In response to a lawmaker's question about measures to improve Iranians' status in the international arenas, Zarif said the Foreign Ministry spares no efforts to prevent violation of rights of the Iranian people worldwide.
