Iran-Turkmenistan cooperation in interest of regional development: Jahangiri


Tehran (ISNA) – Improving Tehran-Ashgabat cooperation is in the interest of regional development and progress, Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said.

In a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Jahangiri praised the “good" holding of the first Caspian Economic Forum hosted by Turkmenistan and said, “The forum gives an opportunity to exchange views and take a step forward to develop bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation”.

He stressed on the need of development in banking cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat, saying, “We should try to remove obstacles in banking relations to further pave the way for improving cooperation between private sections of the two countries.

President Berdimuhamedow, for his part, praised the participation of Iran’s delegation in Caspian Economic Forum and noted the need of improving ties between Tehran and Ashgabat.
