Amirkabir’s 2nd satellite built 40 times more accurate

Tehran (ISNA) – The second satellite, designed and built by Iran’s Amirkabir University of Technology, is 40 times more accurate than “Payam” satellite, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi announced.

The satellite has 1 meter accuracy, as Jahromi said.

According to the Iranian minister, “Zafar” satellite, designed and built by Iran University of Science and Technology and “Nahid 2” will be received by August 23 and by June 2, respectively.

He also announced that the first Space Technology Park of Iran will be constructed in Mazandaran province, saying, “Space Technology Park will be constructed as the first center for developing space businesses and all the companies active in space technology will participate in the park”.

“Dousti” satellite will be launched in near future

The Iranian minister said “Dousti” satellite, designed and produced by Sharif University of Technology will be launched in the near future.

“Zafar” satellite, which is due to be receive by August 23 will be placed into orbits with altitude of 500 to 600 kilometers and would last 2.5 to 3 years, according to the official.
