Zarif addressing India-Iran Business Forum;

“We rely on our people in providing security”

Tehran (ISNA) – Insisting that Iran relies on its own people in providing security, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “Sanctions against Iran are not new thing for the country and we continue cooperation with our friends”.

“Iran and India have longstanding relations that return to thousands of years ago,” Zarif added in India-Iran Business Forum summit.

“One country or one person asks other countries to violate United Nations Security Council resolution articles relating to normalizing of relations with Iran. There has been no revolution in US; just a government has been changed. This is the challenge we are facing with,” the foreign minister said.

He also noted, “We have political and economic will for dealing with the challenge”.

“There are wide-ranging opportunities. Iran is the most reliable partner. We rely on our own people in Iran to provide security. We rely on our own people for development in science and other fields. It doesn’t mean that we are isolationist. We are ready to cooperate with east and other sides and it can help you in choosing partners,” Zarif said.

“We have representatives active in startups in agriculture, petrochemical and other fields. None of them are illegal for cooperation. Attempts to create obstacles in the field are illegal,” he added.
