Iranian documentary “Papeli” to attend France’s Vesoul IFF

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian documentary film “Papeli” directed by Mahdi Zamanpour Kiasari will be screened at the competition section of 25th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France.

In its seventh presence in international festivals, “Papeli” will go on silver screen at the 25th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France.

“Papeli” has already attended some foreign film festivals in Canada, Russia, South Africa, Germany and Turkey.

The word "Papeli", in Mazandarani language, spoken in a Northern Iranian province, means butterfly.

The movie highlights a period of time in the life of a family in the North of Iran when some 25 years ago the father of the family fell down from a tree and cut off his spinal cord. He had climbed the tree to pick up foliage for his livestock, but the tragic incident occurred and his family has been taking care of him throughout all the years.

25th Vesoul IFF Asian Cinema will be held from 5th to 12th February 2019 and the event’s biggest award is Golden Cyclo Award.
