Some young leaders pushing region into wrong direction: Iranian FM

Tehran (ISNA) - It is necessary to send messages at the international level to some young leaders of the region who do not know the realities of the region and are pushing it into the wrong direction, Iranian foreign minister emphasized.

During a visit to Samarkand in Uzbekistan, Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters that he had spoken with the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on the sideline of a summit that was held in Samarkand and she presented a report on the EU's efforts to fully implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Mr. Zairf also said that Mogherini had emphasized the importance of the JCPOA.

"Our region has recently seen positive developments, victories over the Daesh terrorist group and the maintaining the territorial integrity of Iraq. But unfortunately, the dangerous, irrational and belligerent policies of some countries in the region alongside the positive developments can lead the region into the wrong direction, "he added.
