Iran, Pakistan FMs meet in Tehran

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has held talks on Monday with his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

As the head of a high-ranking delegation, Pakistani foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Monday morning for a one-day visit to confer with Zarif.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral and regional issues.

He is expected to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Vice President for economic affairs Mohammad Nahavandian on political and economic relations as well as the latest international and regional developments.

The focus of his visit is to hold consultations with Iranian officials on the US new strategy in Afghanistan which prolongs the presence of American troops for another four years.
