Tehran (ISNA) – World Wetlands Day and the 50th anniversary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands were marked on Tuesday, February 16, during a ceremony in Tehran in the presence of Iran’s First Vice-President, Es’haq Jahangiri.
The convention is an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands, named after the city of Ramsar in Iran, where it was signed in 1971.
