Tehran (ISNA) – Fereydunkenar Wetland, located in the southeast of Fereydunkenar city in Mazandaran Province, is 5,400 hectares in extent.
This wetland is one of the richest ecosystems in northern Iran.
Due to its proximity to the Caspian Sea, there are many dams, nature reserves, rice fields, and forest areas in Fereydoonkenar Wetland.
Fereydunkenar Wetland is home to millions of rare migratory birds, especially the rare and endangered Siberian cranes, which migrate between Iran and Russia regularly and winter in the wetland every time.
