Shahab Hosseini nominated for Best Actor at Jussi Awards

Tehran (ISNA) – “Any Day Now” starring Iranian superstar Shahab Hosseini has been nominated in six categories of the Jussi Awards in Finland.

Directed by Iranian-Finnish filmmaker Hami Ramezan, the film has been nominated in Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound and Best Actor categories.

“Any Day Now” is also set to take part in the 2021 Berlinale- Berlin International Film Festival and will be screened at the Generation Kplus section of the German fest’s 71st edition.

The film narrates the story of a young boy of 13 whose life in a village in Finland turns upside down when his parents’ application for asylum gets rejected.

Shahab Hosseini portrays the role of the father of this particular family who don’t sink into despair regardless of their insecure and uncertain life in a country that does not want to accept them.
