2 Iranian short animation films to vie at 2021 Oscars

Tehran (ISNA) - Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has published the list of 96 qualified animated short films at 2021 Oscars.

At the list there are two Iranian short animation films. “Am I a Wolf?” directed by Amir Houshang Moein qualified at Hiroshima and “Song Sparrow” by Farzaneh Omidvarnia qualified at Lebu International Film Festival.

A short can become eligible for an Oscar in one of three ways. It has to be publicly exhibited in a theater in L.A. or New York City under certain conditions, or take home an award at a designated “qualifying” festival, or win at the Student Academy Awards.

The Oscar nominations are due to be announced on 15 March 2021 and the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, on April 25, 2021.
