Iranian diplomat offers congratulations on appointment of Syrian FM, deputy FM

Tehran (ISNA) - Ali-Asghar Khaji, a senior assistant to Iran’s foreign minister in special political affairs, has, in separate messages, expressed congratulations on the appointment of Faisal Mekdad as Syria’s new foreign minister and Bashar Jaafari as the country’s deputy foreign minister.

In the messages, Khaji reiterated the Islamic Republic's willingness to further enhance relations and cooperation between Iran and the neighbouring and friendly nation of Syria.

He also urged that both Tehran and Damascus work together to promote peace and stability in Syria.
