77th Venice Film Festival invites 3 Iranian films

Tehran (ISNA) - The Venice International Film Festival has unveiled its lineup for the 77th edition including three films from Iran’s cinema.

“Khorshid” (Sun Children) directed by Majid Majidi is one of the feature films selected for the competition section and will compete for winning the festival top prize, the Golden Lion.

“Dashte Khamoush” (The Wasteland) directed by Ahmad Bahrami and “Jenayat-e bi deghat” (Careless Crime) by Shahram Mokri are the other representatives from Iran which will be screened at the Orizzonti category of the festival.

The 77th Venice International Film Festival will take place at Venice Lido from 2 - 12 September 2020. This will be the first major international film event to take place physically since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
