2 Iranian animation films to be screened at IN THE PALACE

Tehran (ISNA) – The 17th IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria will screen two Iranian short animation films at its competition section.

Two Iranian animation films “Each Other” directed by Sarah Tabibzadeh and “Malakout” by Farnoosh Abedi will compete at the Best Animation Film category of the festival.

Founded in 2003, IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival is dedicated to short films, new media and digital arts of up to 27 minutes in length. The main purpose of the Festival is to present contemporary film art from Bulgaria, Europe and the whole world.

IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival is an EFFE Label holder - Europe’s quality stamp for remarkable arts festivals showing their engagement in the field of the arts, community involvement and international openness. Since 2017 IN THE PALACE has been an Academy Awards/Oscar qualifying festival in the categories of Best Animation, Best Fiction and Best National Film and also a Student Academy Awards qualifying festival.

“Each Other” by Sarah Tabibzadeh portrays a young man who works in a bedroll selling shop and he accidentally loses one of the layers.

Farnoosh Abedi’s short animated movie “Malakout” is a horror film about a pianist, who has lost one of his hands and can’t play the piano anymore. Doctors decide to transplant a dead criminal’s hand to his body. The pianist with his new hand starts killing people.

The 17th In the Palace Film Festival will take place in the Bulgarian city of Varna from September 15 to 22.
