Iran stresses on continuation of strategic cooperation between Moscow, Damascus, Tehran

Tehran (ISNA) - A senior assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister in special political affairs, Ali-Asghar Khaji held a meeting with Syrian ambassador to Tehran, Adnan Hassan Mahmoud on Saturday, discussing the latest developments in Syria and bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Khaji stressed on Iran’s decisive support to Damascus in fighting against terrorism, saying, “Strategic cooperation between Russia, Syria and Iran in fighting against terrorism and ongoing trilateral consultation to reach a political solution for Syria’s crisis will be continued”.
He also emphasized the importance of the continuation of joint cooperation between Iran, Russia and Turkey in the framework of Astana Process.
Pointing to the continuation of US’ unilateral sanctions against the Syrian nation under the difficult situation due to the crisis and spread of coronavirus, Khaji stressed that the international community should support Syria’s nation, sovereignty and territorial integrity in the framework of international laws and fighting terrorism.
Adnan Hassan Mahmoud, for his part, pointed to the strategic relations between Iran and Syria, stressing on the importance of continuation of consultations between the two countries at the bilateral and regional levels.
