Iranian film “Yalda” to go on silver screen in Czech Republic

Tehran (ISNA) - “Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness” directed by Massoud Bakhshi will go on silver screen at 50 cinema theaters in the Czech Republic.

The 55th edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has decided to screen some of the elected films at 50 cinema theaters across the Czech Republic.

This year’s edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has been canceled due to the coronavirus spread, but fans will be able to see some of the films in theaters across the Czech Rpublic and online.

The festival’s programming department has already selected a variety of films. Since the government’s plan for loosening the lockdown on June 8 will allow cinemas to screen movies to a limited number of viewers, currently set at 100, the festival has decided to organize a special version of the traditional KVIFF on July 3–11, 2020, to showcase some of the films in cinemas around the Czech Republic.

“Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness” with the theme of forgiveness, is co-produced by Iran, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Lebanon and Behnaz Jafari, Babak Karimi, Fereshteh Sadre Orafaiy and Sadaf Asgari are among the cast.

“Yalda” has already received the Grand Jury Award from the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
