Iran stresses on implementation of economic agreements with Turkey

Tehran (ISNA) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian president, Mahmoud Vaezi mentioned the need of developing economic relations between Tehran and Ankara, stressing on the implementation of agreements made during the two countries' high-ranking officials and decisions of the two countries joint economic commission.

Vaezi made the remarks during a phone conversation with Turkey’s Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan.
Mentioning the impacts of coronavirus on the regional and global economy, Vaezi emphasized the need of resuming border exchanges and road transportation while observing all health guidelines with the aim of promoting trade relations.
Referring to the Iranian physicians and knowledge-based companies and medical and scientific center's valuable achievements in the field of fighting coronavirus, Vaezi voiced Iran’s readiness to share experiences with Turkey in the field.
Turkish trade minister, for her part, underlined the need for resuming trade and economic relations under the current economic condition caused by COVID-19 in all countries, saying that trade with Iran is underway via rail and Ankara is looking for developing it.
“Trade exchanges via road will also be resumed within the framework of the health and hygiene protocols,” she added.
