Zarif holds talks with counterparts, Kurdistan Region PM

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday held talks with his counterparts from Poland, Slovenia and Iraq as well as Kurdistan Region Prime Minister on the sidelines of 2020 Munich Security Conference.

On the third day of the security conference, Zarif met with Slovenian Foreign Minister and discussed the ways to develop bilateral cooperation, developments around Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and issues related to regional security.

In another meeting, Zarif met with Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, discussing Iraq and Syria’s issues as well as fighting against terrorism.

The top diplomats have also expressed concerns about ISIS’ resilience and its resurgence in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Zarif has also met with Polish Foreign Minister, conferring on different issues including the JCPOA, Europe’s commitments toward the nuclear deal, Iran’s measures within the deal, and regional security.

In talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister, the top diplomats exchanged views on bilateral relations in the field of security issues, fighting against terrorism, issues related to the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Iran’s reaction to the US’ terrorist act, and Iran-Iraq cooperation in the related investigation.
