Zarif’s meetings in 1st day of Munich Security Conference

Tehran (ISNA) - Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met with Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, in the German city of Munich.

The meeting was held on Friday morning at the Iranian foreign minister's residence on the sidelines of the annual Munich Security Conference.

During the talks, the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest.

Zarif has also held talks with his Czech counterpart in the German city of Munich.

During the meeting, the two sides conferred on bilateral relations, the JCPOA, and the situation in the Persian Gulf and West Asia regions.

Meanwhile, the ministers of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and China have exchanged views on the JCPOA, West Asia issues, the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and the Ukrainian plane crash.

During the meeting, Zarif praised the Chinese administration for its management of coronavirus case and thanked the Chinese government for helping Iranian students leave Wuhan. 

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also thanked the Islamic Republic for its cooperation in this regard.

Iranian foreign minister has also met his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi in Munich.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and regional issues.

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, foreign ministers of Iran and Croatia have also met.

In the meeting, the two top diplomats conferred on issues of mutual interest.
