Iran, Japan hold 28th session of political-consultative committee

Tehran (ISNA) – The 28th session of Iran-Japan political-consultative committee was held at deputy foreign ministers-level in Tokyo.

The Iranian delegation was headed by deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi and the Japanese side was led by senior deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeo Mori.

During the committee, the two sides conferred on the latest developments around the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) initiative and the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.

The officials have also discussed the obstacles in developing cooperation between Iran and Japan including the banking problems.
