JCPOA not in good condition: Araqchi

عباس عراقچی

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said, “The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not in an appropriate situation”.

The official who is in Beijing for a two-day visit said, “The main goal of the trip is to continue political consultations between Iran and China, especially on JCPOA”.

“We’ve had such consultations with our friends, including China and Russia since the beginning of nuclear talks and the visit has been made to continue it,” he added.

Stressing that JCPOA is not in a good condition, the diplomat said, “Since the sides of the nuclear deal haven’t fulfilled their commitments. JCPOA is not in an appropriate situation right now and Iran doesn’t benefit from the deal as expected”.

“Following the reduction of nuclear commitments by Iran, the current situation of the deal requires more serious and closer consultations with our friends and other sides of the JCPOA,” he added.
