Malaysian PM’s especial envoy meets with Iran FM

Tehran (ISNA) - Malaysian Prime Minister’s special envoy, Datuk Wira Haji Marzuki bin Haji Yahya made a visit to Tehran and met with Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohmmad Javad Zarif.

During the meeting with Zarif, Datuk Wira Haji Marzuki bin Haji Yahya, Malaysian deputy Foreign Minister and special envoy of the country’s Prime Minister discussed bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern.

Zarif, for his part, referred to existing areas of cooperation, especially based on the two countries' complementary economic status and said, “Cooperation between Iranian and Malaysian in the field of knowledge-based companies can benefit both nations”.

The envoy presented an official letter from Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahatir Mohammad to Zarif, inviting Iranian President Hasan Rouhani to attend Kuala Lumpur Summit aimed at evaluating Islamic world’s problems and finding solutions under new international circumstances.
