Way of negotiations on preserving JCPOA open: Iran FM

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that way of talks on preserving the 2015 nuclear deal is always open.

Zarif arrived in Antalya, Turkey, to attend the 24th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization’s (ECO) Foreign Ministers.

Upon his arrival, Zarif said, “We have taken the fourth step of reducing our commitments under the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as we had earlier announced that if the other parties' measures do not yield results, we would have taken next steps in line with reducing commitments”.

“We have taken the step and we will take additional steps, all under the nuclear agreement, which guarantees our interests from the agreement,” he added.

"We started talks from the first day and did not say no to the talks," the top diplomat noted.

"We will hold talks with the parties willing to help preserve the JCPOA," Zarif reiterated.

He further noted that he will hold talks with his counterparts on the sidelines of the 24th meeting of the ECO Foreign Ministers slated to open on Saturday.
