Iran launches chain of 30 IR-6 centrifuges in Natanz facility

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran unveiled and launched a chain of 30 IR-6 centrifuges in Natanz nuclear facility on Monday in the presence of the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi.

Salehi said, “15 new generation centrifuges have been installed in the facility in recent two months. It’s a great achievement which shows our officials in AEOI have never stopped their operation”.

Tehran has gone from producing some 450 grams of low-enriched uranium a day to 5 kilograms, Salehi added, which means it has grown by 10 times only within two months.

“Previously, we installed a chain of 20 centrifuges on April 9 added to another chain of 10 centrifuges and today’s installation increases the number of working centrifuges to 60,” the official said.
