Rouhani sends letters on regional peace to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain: government spokesman

نشست خبری علی ربیعی، سخنگوی دولت

Tehran (ISNA) - Iran’s government spokesman, Ali Rabiei announced that President Hassan Rouhani has sent letters to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain heads of states on regional peace and stability.

At Monday press conference, Rabiei told reporters, “We believe that multiple bilateral relations can be formed in the region and US’ pressure shouldn’t lead to separation among Middle Eastern countries. If US’ interests don’t require, they even exploit Kurds and then abandon them but we are in the region”.

About the Iraq’s recent unrest, he said, “Iraqi nation had legitimate demands and the Arab country’s government gave proper response to these legitimate demands and heard their voice”.

“Meanwhile, intelligence evidence, US President Donald Trump’s hasty tweets and Zionist Regime’s behavior show that they were riding on the wave of popular demands and do psychological operations,” the spokesman stressed.

“The duty of neighboring countries is not to interfere in Iraq’s domestic policy. Interactions between Iraqi nation and government will bring about the welfare and security to the people of the Arab country,” Rabiei went on to say.
