Austria wouldn’t sanction Iran’s tourism

Tehran (ISNA) – Austrian ambassador to Tehran stressed Austria airline neither cease nor limit its flights to Iran and sanctions and threats wouldn’t affect Austrian visitors to Iran.

In an interview with ISNA, Austrian ambassador to Tehran Stefan Scholz called the presence of Austrian airline in Iran and continuation of its services in the country “a great achievement”.

“As you know, some of airlines have stopped their direct flights to Iran but Austrian airline has tried to connect the Islamic Republic to European capitals and we are so glad about this. It is a great privilege for Iran as a tourism destination,” he said.

About the effects of US’ sanctions and threats on Austrian visitors to Iran, Stefan Scholz said, “It doesn’t happened at all and the sanctions and threats wouldn’t affect Austrian visitors to Iran”.

According to Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ministry of Iran, 10156 Austrians had traveled to Iran during last Iranian year and more than 5000 Austrian tourists have traveled to Iran in the first half of the current year.
