Iran’s Interior Minister departs for Geneva

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Interior Minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli left Tehran for Geneva on Sunday to attend the 70th session of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (EXCOM).

EXCOM will be held in the presence of senior officials from member countries on October 7-10.

In addition to delivering a speech at the conference, Rahmani Fazli is going to hold meetings with senior officials from Afghanisatn, Pakistan, as well as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Director of Social Affairs Organization, Taqi Rostamvandi and the head of Interior Ministry for International Affairs, Rahim Saki are accompanying Rahmani Fazli during the visit to Geneva.

The Executive Committee of UNHCR holds annual session known as “EXCOM”. This usually takes place in Geneva during the first half of October and lasts one week during which issues related to refugees will be discussed.
