Iran’s Attorney General travels to Kyrgyzstan

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Attorney General, Mohammad Jafar Montazeri traveled to Kyrgyzstan to meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart.

The two attorney generals discussed bilateral ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstani during a meeting held on Monday.

Welcoming Montazeri and his accompanied delegation, the Kyrgyz side pointed to the different areas of relations between Tehran and Bishkek, hoping the 17th Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit concentrating on fighting illicit drug trafficking leads to good results.

Montazeri, for his part, described bilateral ties, especially in judicial area as good, saying, “Iran’s policy is to expand cooperation with neighboring states with no limit, including in Central Asia.

Insisting of his previous proposal on forming a working group to pursue agreements reached in the meeting of attorney generals in SCO, he said, “I will raise the bid again during the summit and I urge the Kyrgyz side to pursue it”.
