Tehran (ISNA) - The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi has announced details of Iran's 3rd step of reducing commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“Tehran will use more advanced and rapid centrifuges as part of its new nuclear steps and that it has the capacity to enrich uranium beyond the 20 percent limit,” Kamalvandi said in a press conference on Saturday.

“We have started lifting limitations on our Research and Development imposed by the deal. It will include development of more rapid and advanced centrifuges. All these steps are reversible if the other side fulfills its promises,” he added.

Kamalvandi went on to note that in the next two months, 164 chain machines of IR4 centrifuges will become operational.

Kamalvandi said the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been informed about Iran's new nuclear steps which it will continue to monitor.

He stressed that Iran has no plans yet to limit IAEA's access to its nuclear sites.

“IAEA will visit nuclear sites today and see that 4 measures have taken in the framework of the 3rd step in reducing JCPOA commitments,” Kamalvandi said.

“Acting Director General of IAEA, Cornel Feruta will travel to Tehran on Saturday and meet with high-level Iranian officials including Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif as well as head of AEOI, Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday,” he added.
