Iran appointed as coordinator of five Caspian Sea littoral states on tourism

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran has been appointed as the coordinator of five Caspian Sea littoral states and it will host the next meeting of tourism ministers of Caspian Sea littoral states.

Iran’s deputy head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for tourism, vali teymouri who in Kazakhstan to attend the “pentalateral meeting on developing tourism relations between Caspian Sea littoral states” aimed at improving regional and international cooperation on tourism, said, “Iran is appointed as Caspian Sea littoral states’ coordinator in tourism area and it’s also determined as the host of next meeting of tourism ministers of Caspian Sea littoral states which is due to be held next year”.

“Iran’s proposed draft of an agreement on tourism cooperation between the states was also discussed during the meeting. The attending delegations agreed on the generalities of the document and their additional proposals will be obtained through diplomatic channels in order to be signed by representatives of the five states in the next meeting in Iran,” he added.

The two-day meeting which is being held since August 27 in Aktau, Kazakhstn, is an attempt to operationalize the agreements signed during the fifth summit of the heads of state of the Caspian Sea littoral states held last year, the official continued.

Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan participate in the meeting to improve their cooperation on regional tourism.
