نشست خبری علی ربیعی، سخنگوی دولت

Tehran (ISNA) – There has been no intention to meet with any US official in Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif’s trip to Biarritz, Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei said on Monday.

Speaking about Zarif’s surprise visit to the southwest French town of Biarritz where the G7 summit is being held, Rabiei said, “His trip was not related to G7 summit and it was taken upon the request of France. There has been no intention to meet with any US official”.

“The recent diplomatic developments by Iran during the past week show that Tehran hasn’t surrendered to US pressures,” he said, “The government is trying its best to decrease negative impacts of US sanctions and get the remaining sides of Iran’s nuclear deal to stay committed to it”.

Stressing that Iran doesn’t accept US sanctions in no way, Rabiei said, “We will try to lift the sanctions”.

Pointing to recent remarks by Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the spokesman described it as a “clear message to the Zionist regime that its actions won’t be unanswered”.

Answering a question about “Adrian Darya” oil tanker and its next destination, Rabiei said, “The destination of an oil tanker is determined by the owner of its oil and we won’t be involved in any coordination regarding the issue”.
