Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif said he has met with French President, Emmanuel Macron, following his surprise visit to the southwest French town of Biarritz.

Following his trip to Biarritz, France where the G7 summit is being held, Zarif tweeted, “Iran's active diplomacy in pursuit of constructive engagement continues”.

“(I) met Emmanuel Macron on sidelines of G7 Biarritz after extensive talks with Jean-Yves Le Drian and Finance Minister followed by a joint briefing for UK and Germany,” he added.

“Road ahead is difficult. But worth trying,” the top diplomat said.
