Mousavi’s tweet over Zarif’s meetings, interviews in France

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi in his official Twitter account posted a report regarding Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif’s meetings and interviews in France.

“During the one-day visit to Paris, FM Zarif met with French President Emmanuel Macron and FM Jean-Yves Le Drian. He also interviewed with three important outlets Euronews, AFP, and France24, explaining Iran’s latest stances on regional and international developments as well as implementation of JCPOA,”Mousavi tweeted.

During the visit, Zarif held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in the Élysée Palace in Paris.

Following the meeting with President Macron, Zarif said talks with Macron aimed at preserving Iran nuclear deal known as the JCPOA were "productive."

“France had presented some suggestions and we presented some suggestions about how to implement the nuclear deal and the steps that both sides need to take," he added.

Zarif stressed that Iran will not renegotiate the nuclear accord.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif noted, “Iran, as a country with an extensive coastline along the Persian and Oman Gulfs and controlling the northern part of the Strait of Hormuz, is the most reliable force in building security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz”.

The Iranian top diplomat also met with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian as well during which the two sides conferred on the latest developments in bilateral ties, regional issues, and the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA).

Europe's commitments under the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) was the key focus of talks between Zarif and French officials.
