I have no message from US to Iran: Macron's top diplomatic advisor

دیدار مشاور دیپلماتیک رئیس‌جمهور فرانسه با دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی

Tehran (ISNA) - French President Emmanuel Macron's top diplomatic advisor, Emmanuel Bonne on Wednesday stressed that he has neither traveled to Iran as mediator, nor conveyed any message from US to Tehran.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani in Tehran.

Mentioning France’s awareness of Iran’s resistance against different pressures in the past 40 years and the Islamic Republic’s proven capability in bypassing sanctions, Emmanuel Bonne said, “Iran’s power, influence and status in regional and international equations have grown significantly in past 20 years despite US’ desire, will and actions”.

“Emmanuel Macron seeks joint initiatives to broker ceasefire in US’ economic war against Iran and believes the action will lead to de-escalate the growing tensions,” he added.

“Given Iran’s undeniable role and influence in the region, Paris tends to continue negotiations and cooperation with Iran in order to manage current crises in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon,” the French official concluded.
