IRGC dismantles terror group in West Azarbaijan province

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has dismantled a terrorist group in Chaldoran County, West Azarbaijan province.

“The security forces of the base had carried out a security operation on Tuesday during which the terrorists were ambushed as they were trying to infiltrate the country from the Chaldoran County. Two terrorists were killed in the clashes and several others were wounded,” the public affairs of Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shuhada base announced in a statement.

Two IRGC forces were martyred during the clashes.

“A considerable amount of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment were also seized,” the statement said.

A manhunt is underway to arrest the remnants of the terrorist team.
