Mosque of colors; astonishing tourists

Tehran (ISNA) - There are many mosques in Iran which are historically and architecturally interesting, among all them the Nasir-ol-molk Mosque (the Pink mosque) is one of the absolute choices in the long list of attractions for Shiraz travelers and foreign tourists.

The Nasir-ol-molk Mosque is known for its colorful windows. In the morning, when sunlight shines through the windows, the “Shabestan” goes into colors: green, blue, red and pink; the charming colors that infatuate all the tourists. Visitors sit there for hours, staring at the colorful windows and taking pictures. Tourists know the Nasir-ol-molk Mosque as the Pink Mosque and are impressed by the unique combination of the colors.

In the morning, the “Shabestan” of this mosque is full of people capturing every moment of the shining sunlight through the colorful glasses.

The Nasir-ol-molk Mosque was built during Qajar dynasty. This mosque constructed over a 12-year period by the order of Nasir-ol-molk (one of the Qajar nobles) and was designed by Mohammad Hasan-e-Memār, an Iranian architect.
