نشست بهرام قاسمی سخنگوی وزارت امور خارجه

Tehran (ISNA) – A European delegation in charge of Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges, known as INSTEX will visit Tehran in the near future to discuss the issue with Iranian officials, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Qassemi announced.

Regarding the level of the European delegation, Qassemi said, “It’s a high-ranking delegation with economic and technical experts, related to INSTEX and I don’t consider it as a political delegation”.

“Many countries have expressed their willingness to use the payment mechanism in their cooperation with Iran, if INSTEX is implemented,” the spokesman added.

According to the official, Iran is working on establishment of required mechanisms to advance implementation process of INSTEX, following the registration of the financial mechanism.

“During previous weeks, Iran and Europe have good professional exchanges in banking, economic and other related areas, which are due to be followed by a visit by a European delegation in charge of INSTEX to Iran. The delegation will meet related Iranian officials to discuss operational steps regarding the financial mechanism. We hope the visit of the delegation can lead to effective steps towards implementation of the mechanism,” Qassemi said.

Regarding the Iranian border security forces abducted in Mirjaveh and follow-ups by Iran’s Foreign Ministry and other relative entities for their release, Qassemi said, “We are still following up the issue. In Foreign Ministry and Iran’s embassy in Pakistan, we are doing all we can to release the abducted forces, as soon as possible and bring them back to their family and country”.
