Iranian documentary to be screened in Germany

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian documentary film “Starless Dreams” will be screened in Bremen, Germany.

The film, directed by Mehrdad Oskouei will be shown in “Cinty 46” cinema of Bremen.

“City 46”, which known for showing influential films, will host the Iranian documentary’s special showing in February 5.

Starless Dreams was first screened in 2016 Berlin International Film Festival and achieved Human Rights Nights Film Festival’s (Italy) prize.

The film has also participated in several festivals in Germany.

Mehrdad Oskouei’s film will also be screened in Moldova’s Chronograph Festival, which is due to be held on May 22-28.

Starless Dreams tells the story of seven young teenage girls sharing temporary quarters at a rehabilitation and correction center on the outskirts of Tehran. As the New Year approaches, the girls bond and reveal with disarming and often playful honesty the circumstances and acts that resulted in their incarceration.

Winning of True Vision Award for Mehrdad Oskouei at the 13th True/False Film Festival, United States in 2016, Amnesty International Film Prize at the 66th International Film festspiele Berlinale-Generation 14plus, Germany in 2016 and the Full Frame Inspiration Award at the 19th Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, North Carolina, United States in 2016 are among the Iranian film’s international awards.
