Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Qassemi has strongly condemned a brutal attack on an Afghan police training facility outside Kabul Monday, killing more than 100 members of Afghanistan’s security forces.

In a statement, Qassemi offered sympathies to the Afghan government and nation and families of victims of the heinous crime.

“We condemn any act of resorting to killing and violence and stress on the necessity of talks and national consensus to reach peace and security in Afghanistan,” he said.

According to Reuters, a senior official from Afghan Defense Ministry said the attack began Monday morning when militants rammed a car full explosives through a military checkpoint and detonated the vehicle inside the campus of the National Directorate of Security forces training center in Maidan Shahr, the capital of Maidan Wardak province, which is situated southwest of Kabul.
