“Iranian Trade Center” to be opened in Damascus

Tehran (ISNA) – “Iranian Trade Center” will be opened in the near future in Damascus, the chairman of Iran-Syria joint economic committee announced.

Mentioning the recent visit of Iran’s economic delegation to Syria, the chairman of Iran-Syria joint economic committee, Keyvan Kashefi said, “During the visit, the preparations for constructing the Iranian Trade Center in Damascus were successfully done”.

“Stablishing a joint transportation company with Iraq and Syria, aimed at transiting Iranian goods to Syria through Iraq, as well as possibility of financial transactions through currency exchange offices and banks of the two countries and facilitating traffics of trade activists were other issues that were discussed during the visit,” he added.

Kashefi believes that Syria’s recent security has made suitable opportunities for Iranian private sector activists to participate in Syria’s reconstruction and providing its supplies.

“Syria’s government and private sector are interested in expanding relations with Iran, of which we should exploit,” he said.
