Preliminary meeting of Iran-Russia economic joint commission held

Tehran (ISNA) - Iran-Russia economic joint commission meeting was held in Moscow on Wednesday in the presence of Iranian Energy Minister, Reza Ardakanian.

Iranian ambassador to Russia, Mehdi Sanai announced the report on his official Twitter account and wrote, “Iran’s exports to Russia have increased 42% during past 9 months and total exchanges between the two countries have grown by 10%”.

“50% of the total exchanges are agricultural products. It is worth noting that Iran and Russia have serious determination to expand economic cooperation,” he added.

Reza Ardakanian arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to have meetings with Russian authorities and participate in Iran-Russia economic joint commission meeting.

He will meet Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Novak on the first day of his two-day visit to Moscow.

A high-ranking delegation is accompanying Ardakanian on the visit.

The Iran-Russia economic joint commission consists of 15 workgroups: transport, banking, standard, tourism, sports and youth, investment, nuclear, higher education, industry, Eurasian Economic Union, customs, health, culture, energy and mining.
