Salehi warns of unpleasant consequences if JCPOA breaks down

دیدار علی‌اکبر صالحی با کمیسیونر انرژی اتحادیه اروپا

Tehran (ISNA) – The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) warned the EU of unpleasant consequences if Iran didn’t enjoy the economic benefits of the 2015 nuclear deal.

“If Europeans don’t follow through with action to keep the economic benefits of the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and their words are not turned into deeds, then it is very unpleasant and the situation would be unpredictable,”Salehi said on the sidelines of the third Iran-EU seminar on peaceful nuclear cooperation in Brussels.

Salehi, however, said he believed the EU is doing its best and is on its way to delivering on its promises.

EU is trying to create the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), a payments channel to keep trade relations with Iran in defiance of US sanctions.
