“Distracting public attention from Khashoggi’s murder is of ‘plan B’ purposes”

اصغر سلیمی

Tehran (ISNA) – “One of the purposes that plan B follows, is to distract public attention from Saudi critic journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s case, after his murder and international criticism against US and Zionist regime,” Iranian member of Parliament, Asghar Salimi said.

In an exclusive interview with ISNA, Salimi mentioned the detention of a Norwegian citizen of Iranian background on October 21 on the accusation of helping an unspecified Iranian intelligence service “to act in Denmark” and on alleged involvement in the assassination plot as the beginning of “plan B” implementation and said, “Denmark has previously committed actions against Iran. The country has been used as a tool for harming Iran”.

“Now that Iran and EU are due to have financial relations, the enemy is attempting to make obstacles on the way of this decision by such allegations,” he said, adding, ”Israel also seeks diplomatic relations with Persian Gulf states and wants to distract public opinions by alleged Iran’s support of terrorism”.

The MP noted, “After a while, the truth will appear just like before and international community will realize that US and Israel are behind the plot to present Iran as the origin of terrorism”.
