Iranian film “Dayan” to attend Singapore Film Festival

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian film “Dayan” directed by Behrouz Nooranipour will participate in the competition section of 29th Singapore Film Festival.

“Dayan” is Nouranipour’s first feature film after his documentary film, “A157”, focusing on future of war-people who live in a village, trying hard for a better future and people who have experienced war.

Vying for the Silver Screen Awards are the international premiere of “Dayan” by Behrouz Nooranipour from Iran, Singapore director Yeo Siew Hua’s “A Land Imagined”, Kazakh director Emir Baigazin’s “The River”, and Chinese director Bi Gan’s “Long Day’s Journey Into Night”.

Hong Kong filmmaker Stanley Kwan will serve as head of jury, while the Southeast Asian short film competition, also part of the Silver Screen Awards, will be determined separately by an all-women jury panel headed by Berlinale’s Maike Mia Hohne.

The 29th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) will be held from November 28 to December 9, with 103 films from 44 countries.
