Belgrade Book Fair kicks off in Serbia with Iran attendance

Tehran (ISNA) – The 63rd International Belgrade Book Fair kicked off in Serbia under the slogan of "The Joy of Reading", with representatives from Iran attending the event.

About 1,000 local and foreign exhibitors have participated in the 63rd International Belgrade Book Fair which kicked off on Sunday night. Belgrade Book Fair is one of the oldest and most important literary events in the region. About 1200 Serb reporters and 70 foreign reporters from 14 countries around the world are covering this year’s fair.

Accommodated in a pavilion of 20 square meters, Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) is representing the Islamic Republic’s publishing industry.

The pavilion is showcasing over 300 titles in different fields including religion, the Iraq-Iran imposed war, literature, poem, children’s and teenagers’ literature, arts and books on Iranian studies.

Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Egypt, China, Hungary, Romania, Republic of Serbia, Belarus, Slovenia, United States, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Montenegro and Switzerland are countries attending the event.

This year's special guest country is Morocco whose stand of some 100 square meters decorated in their traditional style presents more than 1,000 books of prominent national publishers.

The 63rd International Belgrade Book Fair is taking place on 21-28 October.
