Iran, Turkey may establish joint bank

Tehran (ISNA) - Iran and Turkey may establish a joint bank, aiming to facilitate and increase trade exchanges, secretary of Iran-Turkey Joint Chamber of Commerce announced.

In an exclusive interview with ISNA new agency, the official said, “A road map for economic cooperation between Iran and Turkey has begun and both sides want development in their cooperation in biotechnology and medicine exchanging”.

“During the first phase, a guarantee fund should be established for Iran and Turkey exports to accelerate trade exchanges. Iran has recently offered a plan on establishment a joint bank in order to expand trade relations between Tehran and Ankara, which can facilitate the bilateral trade relations,” he added.

Iran and Turkey are expanding their relations in areas of economy, banking, buying petrochemical materials, mineral materials and industrial parts, he said.
